Replic’Oric Step 2 – A point on the (re)colouring mode

As I am working on the Replic’Oric project, the second step (and what will become the StratoCumulus) become clearer and clearer and the most important changes is the add for a “recolouring” overlay mechanism.

This blog entry is the first documentation on what will become this new display mode.  Both The “New Oric” and the StratoCumulus will provide it.

Alice In WonderGame

AliceInWonderGame
During the AC 2014 convention, they organize a Speed Coding party, this year the theme was around “Alice in Wonderland” with the contrain of a 2 player game. I was (not) really inspired by this year theme, and started saturday evening to draw some tiles for the oric trying to looks like the White rabbit and the mad Hater, after the night I finally had an idea to make some sort of a Winter/Summer Game where Alice and her friends (and foe) play against each other in a competition. Starting so late, I wans’t able to do a lot of things so I only had the time to make a “pull the rope” like minigame, where you need to quickly presse two button to pull the rope on your side.

Jonathan Bristow is dead…

This the saddest news of the year…

The great Oric Programmer Jonathan Bristow also known as Twilighte died yesterday evening at around 18:00 from a long illness.

I wasn’t close to him, but meet him two times at CEO’s Visu, and was impressed by his love of the Oric, and all of his work. I never saw someone with such passion and such desire to share it.

He was going to be 46.

Rest In Peace

Welcome to “Trou Paumé”

Today it’s the start of the RGC’s AC2013 a French convention of retro computing.

This year will be a great convention as there is a lot of new release and desmonstration, like SCPCD’s JagCF, the release of the Jaguar version if Orion_’s Elansar, etc..

Like each year there is a Speed Coding Compo, in which I participate, and I’m anger too see what the other team will be able to so this year with the imposed theme.

I will made my game on the Bandai’s WonderSwan using the WonderWitch cardridge. I hope to work with my own DevCart next time.

In exclusivity, for you the readers of my blog, I’ll give you he name of my project: こびつざに – Kobit Zany (name subject to change. Or maybe not :D)

I really hope that there will not be any Harlem Shake or other meme like this this year 😉

See you soon !

PS: As I am on my phone, it is difficult to add links to other pages, and there could be some writing errors. I will update and correct this post later, please forgive me about this.

* “Trou Paumé” is a french expression that can be literally translated to something like “Lost Hole” and is really meaning “Middle of Nowhere”
