Playing with Arduino and YM2149

Today, I played with my Arduino to connect a Yamaha YM2149 ( know too as AY-3-8910. After some times I finally got it to work !

And contrary to all other works I saw, I didn’t use an external Quartz, the 2Mhz clock I used is generated by the AVR chip.

Here some pictures :

I will post more informations/code/vids later after porting a YM player.

  1. Hey, I’m trying to get some sound from this IC as well… I was wondering, how did you generated the 2mhz clock for it?
    Do you have the code?

    Thanks!

    1. I use one of the AVR timer to generate the 2MHz Clock, I will post the code in a few days 🙂

    1. I will post it don’t worry 🙂 Sorry it took me a long time to review some parts. I will make a specific news when it will be ready 🙂
